Enlarged tonsils

Enlarged tonsils and adenoids:

The tonsils and adenoids are lymphatic tissue found on both sides of the back of the throat and where the nasal passages meet the throat. If these tissue masses are enlarged they can block off a child’s airway therefore creating more SDB and permanent brain deficits from lack of oxygen during growth and development. Having a child’s tonsils and adenoids evaluated by an ENT (ear, nose, and throat doctor) is very important. While working with an ENT it is important to complete myofunctional therapy to address SDB and correct habits.
